KSTU Salt Lake City Expanding Midday News
Tribune Broadcasting’s Fox affiliate KSTU Salt Lake City (DMA 34) today announced the expansion of the station’s midday newscast. Beginning Monday, April 25, its midday news will go from 90 minutes to two hours, airing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday-Friday.
With the news expansion, KSTU will now produce 9.5 hours of live, local news each weekday, with a total of 57 news hours per week.
The 11 a.m.-noon newscast will continue to be anchored by Kerri Cronk and Kelly Chapman, with Max Roth and Allison Croghan anchoring noon-1pm.
“Utah’s Most Watched News has tripled the amount of coverage in the past decade. Together with our groundbreaking social media outreach, news content and distribution is our commitment not a campaign,” said Tim Ermish, the station’s GM.
“This expansion further demonstrates Fox 13’s commitment to delivering quality local news to our viewers at times that are convenient for them,” said Marc Sternfield, news director. “We are proud to be Utah’s leader in breadth and depth of local news coverage.”
