KVEA Names Anchors For 5 P.M. Weekday News

Telemundo-owned KVEA Los Angeles (DMA 2) on Tuesday announced that Dunia Elvir and Julio Vaqueiro will make up the anchor team for the station’s new half-hour weekday newscast at 5 p.m., Noticiero Telemundo 52 a las 5 PM, that will debut on Monday, Sept. 26.

With this new local news expansion, KVEA will deliver more than 25 hours of local news each week.

Additionally, Nancy Leal has been named co-anchor for the station’s weekday morning newscasts, Noticiero Telemundo 52 a las 5 AM y 6 AM, joining co-anchor Enrique Chiabra and weather anchor Michelle Trujillo.

Leal joins KVEA from sister station KXTX Dallas-Fort Worth where she was the weekend news anchor for Noticiero Telemundo 39 Fin de Semana a las 4:30 PM y 10 PM. Leal joined Telemundo in 2005 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Production from the University of Houston.
