WMAR Names Schaffer Morning Co-Anchor

WMAR reporter Christian Schaffer is the new co-anchor for Good Morning Maryland on the Scripps-owned ABC affiliate in Baltimore (DMA 26). He joins Ashley James for the morning newscasts weekdays from 4:30 to 7 a.m.

Before joining WMAR, Schaffer worked as a reporter in Harrisburg, Pa., and as a news producer in Boston; Richmond, Va.; and Greensboro, N.C.

Schaffer has been a weekend anchor and multimedia journalist with WMAR since 2006.

Schaffer grew up in southern Maryland, and has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Richmond and a master’s in broadcast journalism from Boston University.
