Jenelle Shriner Named News Director Of KPLC
Jenelle Shriner has been named news director at KPLC, Raycom’s NBC affiliate in Lake Charles, La. (DMA 174), effective Sept. 19.
Prior to accepting this position, she was the assistant news director/acting news director at KVUE Austin, Texas.
Shriner spent 14 years as a producer or executive producer on morning newscasts all over the country, including WTVD Raleigh, N.C.; KOMO Seattle; WINK Fort Myers, Fla.; KVUE Austin, Texas; and KPRC Houston.
KPLC General Manager John Ware said: “We are delighted to have found such an exceptional person who brings an abundance of experience and enthusiasm to fill this key position for KPLC.”
Shriner is a native of Asheville, N.C. She graduated with a degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
