WJLA Renews Alison Starling’s Contract

Sinclair Broadcast Group’s ABC affiliate WJLA Washington (DMA 7) said on Wednesday that anchor Alison Starling has agreed to remain on the ABC7 News desk for several additional years, extending her contract with the station through 2019.

Starling has been at WJLA since January 2004, spearheading coverage of some of the most important local and national stories including Hurricane Isabel, the Virginia Tech shootings, and two historic Papal visits.

She is also known for the long-running “Working Woman” series, showcasing the many exceptional women in the Washington region.

Prior to arriving in Washington, Alison spent three years in Seattle, Wash., anchoring and reporting for KIRO.

The Florida native began her career as an anchor and reporter at WDEF Chattanooga, Tenn. 

 She is a graduate of the University of Florida.
