DMA 26: BALTIMORE

WBAL News Adds Anchor/Reporter Adam May

Hearst Television’s NBC affiliate WBAL Baltimore (DMA 26) is expanding its weekend news anchor team with the addition of veteran journalist Adam May. He joins the station from CBS Newspath where he was freelancing.

May makes his return to the Baltimore airways when he joins WBAL later this month, teaming with Kai Reed as co-anchor of the station’s 6, 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts on Saturday and Sunday. May will also contribute to the weekday evening and late newscasts. He previously worked at WJZ in the city

May has 10 years of experience reporting events in the Baltimore area, having won the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences “Best Live Reporter” Award for the Mid-Atlantic region in 2006. That work is paired with four years as a national network correspondent.

His earlier work included reporting/anchoring at Al Jazeera America; WHAS Louisville, Ky.; WAAY Huntsville, Ala.; and KBJR Duluth, Minn.

May is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he majored in communications.
