Family-owned News-Press adds KRDO Colorado Springs and KJCT Grand Junction to its group of five other small-market stations. The seller is family-owned Pikes Peak Broadcasting.
In a deal between two, small family-owned broadcast groups, News-Press & Gazette has agreed to purchase two Colorado ABC affliates—KRDO Colorado Springs and KJCT Grand Junction—from Pikes Peak Broadcasting. The deal, which also includes KRDO-AM Colorado Springs, is subject to FCC approval. Terms have not yet been disclosed.
“After the sale, KRDO will continue to be operated by a family-owned (the Bradleys) company solidly committed to local news and dedicated to support the communites it serves,” said Pikes Peak Broadcasting Chairman Harry W. Hoth, in a prepared statement.
News-Press President David Bradly said the Hoth family has “built a fine broadcasting legacy that will be our foundation for the future.”
News-Press also owns TV stations in El Paso, Texas; Bend, Ore.; Palm Springs, Calif.; Yuma, Ariz.; and Idaho Falls, Idaho, along with two radio stations in Palm Springs, newspapers in Missouri and Kansas and cable systems in Missouri, Arizona and California.
Kalil & Co. brokered the deal.
