Bob O’Neil Named General Sales Manager Of Fox’s WITI Milwaukee

Fox O&O WITI Milwaukee has promoted Bob O’Neil to vice president and general sales manager for WITI (Fox 6) Milwaukee. Beginning in June, he will lead all the station’s sales efforts, both local and national, reporting directly to Glenn Berk, senior vice president and general manager. The current VP-general sales manager, Mike Neale, who has been with the station for 27 years, will retire in June.

In addition, current national sales manager, Stu Swaziek, will be promoted to sales manager and take on additional responsibilities, including overseeing the local account executive team.

In making the announcement, Berk said: “I’d like to thank Mike for his years of dedication and leadership as GSM at WITI. The fact that we are able to promote from within, not one, but two of his sales managers, is truly a testament to the impact he has had here at Fox 6. Bob and Stu are veterans in sales who are well positioned for a seamless transition and will use their expertise to lead this sales team to new heights.”

Mike Neale has been with WITI since 1997, first as local sales manager, then in November 2001 he was promoted to VP-general sales manager.

Prior to joining the station, Neale was national sales manager for WCGV-WVTV Milwaukee. Before that, he held the role of account executive for Petry Television in Minneapolis, KITN Minneapolis, WDIO-WIRT-TV Duluth, Minn., and Skyway News in Minneapolis.

A graduate of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn., he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

Bob O’Neil has served as local sales manager of WITI since February 2002. Prior to joining the station, he spent six years at Hearst Television, first as a sales representative and later, as national sales manager.

A graduate of the University of Kansas, O’Neil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Broadcast Management.

Stu Swaziek has been with WITI since July 2000. He began as an account executive and was promoted to national sales manager and regional sales manager in 2006. Prior to joining the station, Swaziek was an account executive for Time Warner Cable in Kansas City, Mo., and KJCT Grand Junction, Colo.

A graduate of the University of Kansas, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and broadcast management.
