Eric Garcia Named President-GM Of WLTV Miami

The Univision veteran will lead the company’s TV, radio and digital offerings in Miami.

TelevisaUnivision on Monday appointed Eric Garcia president and general manager of its WLTV Miami, reporting directly to Jesus Lara, president of local media at TelevisaUnivision.

Garcia brings extensive broadcast and media industry experience to this leadership role, where he will be responsible for the overall direction, strategy, and growth of WLTV, TelevisaUnivision’s radio stations and local digital offerings.

Prior to assuming this new position, Garcia was vice president of multiplatform sales in New York and station manager in Washington and Philadelphia.

He led sales for Univision’s linear and digital streaming, branded social and experiential platforms in New York. His responsibilities also included developing revenue strategies for Univision’s eastern audio region across all linear and non-linear verticals, including extensive live event offerings.

In his new capacity, Garcia will oversee various key areas, including sales, news, community/public affairs, operations, creative services, marketing and production. Furthermore, he will ensure compliance and foster audience growth strategies and community outreach initiatives across all business units.

With 20 years of experience in the media industry, Garcia’s journey at Univision began in New York, where he started his career as director of audio sales. Since then, he has held various leadership positions in sales, driving revenue growth and implementing innovative strategies for Univision’s multi-media brands and platforms.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Garcia also spent 14 years at the Spanish Broadcasting System, where he held several senior sales positions, culminating in vice president-general manager and radio revenue chief.

He received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Long Island University in New York.
