NAB Launches Search For New NAB Show Leader

This person will succeed Chris Brown, who is leaving the organization following the 2024 NAB Show after nearly 25 years at the trade association.

The National Association of Broadcasters has begun a nationwide search for an executive vice president and managing director of global connections and events overseeing the annual NAB Show — one of the largest business-to-business trade shows in North America and the premier trade show serving the media and entertainment industry. NAB says the position “presents a unique opportunity for an experienced executive with a strong trade show and strategic business background to lead and inspire a team of 30 responsible for executing NAB Show, NAB Show New York and NAB Amplify.”

The search comes on the heels of the announcement that Chris Brown, who currently serves in this role, will transition out of the organization following the 2024 NAB Show after nearly 25 years of service to NAB. To ensure a smooth transition, Brown will play an integral role in selecting and mentoring his successor.

“Chris’s guidance and leadership have been critical to the success of NAB’s world-class conventions, which prepare broadcasters and the larger media and entertainment community for the challenges of tomorrow,” said NAB President-CEO Curtis LeGeyt. “Through his leadership, Chris has ensured that the entire NAB Show portfolio is constantly innovating to deliver a superior experience. During his tenure, the Show has remained among the ten largest shows in North America and the undisputed top global brand for the media space. I am personally grateful to Chris for his contributions to the success of our association and thank him for his many years of service.”

NAB is seeking a seasoned business and trade show strategist to serve as the chief ambassador for NAB Show to outside customers and partners, lead business expansion and extension efforts and oversee the overall financial and operational strength of all business lines.

In addition to ensuring that the NAB Show portfolio remains vital, growing and strong, the EVP and managing director will serve a critical role on NAB’s executive leadership team, working closely with NAB’s chief executive officer and chief financial officer to determine short and long-term financial plans, understanding the significant importance of NAB Show to NAB’s financial health.
