Oregon Association Of Broadcasters Announces Award Recipients

The Oregon Association of Broadcasters has chosen the recipients of its annual Broadcast Excellence Awards for 2023. These awards recognize outstanding achievements in broadcasting across Oregon, showcasing excellence in journalism, production, and community engagement.

This year, the OAB said, it received “an exceptional number of submissions, highlighting the remarkable talent and dedication within the broadcasting industry.” After consideration by the board of directors, the winners are:

Television Station of the Year | KPTV-KPDX Portland |Gray Television

Radio Stations of the Year | KJDY-KHKO & KZHC-AM-FM |Elkhorn Media Group

“We are immensely proud to honor these stations for their exemplary contributions to the field of broadcasting,” said Bob Singer of the Oregon Association of Broadcasters. “Their commitment to excellence, innovation, and community service is truly commendable, and we congratulate them on this well-deserved recognition.”

Tom McCall Award winner is Sue Keenom, SVP state, international and board relations | The Tom McCall award is given to honor an individual who has distinguished themselves in service to the state or nation on behalf of the broadcast industry. “The OAB cannot think of a more deserving person than Sue Keenom for her commitment to our industry and the broadcast stations throughout Oregon.”
