Telemundo Names New Station GMs

Jose Flores, GM at KTLM McAllen, Texas, now adds KTMD Houston to his portfolio, while Patricia Buchanan moves from sales VP at KTMD to GM of KVDA San Antonio and KASA Albuquerque, N.M.

NBCUniversal’s Telemundo Station Group has appointed two general managers in the Southwest.

Jose Flores

Jose Flores, currently the president-general manager of Telemundo 40, KTLM McAllen, Texas, will expand his role to include oversight of KTMD Telemundo Houston.

Since being named GM of KTLM in 2014, he has overseen the station’s transformation into a multiplatform local news operation. Flores has led KTLM’s multiple newscast launches, expansion to streaming platforms and the station’s move to new state-of-the-art facilities.

It’s not Flores’ first experience with KTMD. He was formerly the station’s news directors.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

She has more than 30 years of management and sales experience, including as KTMD VP of sales since 2019 and as KASA’s sales lead since the station launched.

At both KTMD and KASA, she directed the strategy behind the stations’ cross-platform and bilingual sales expansion through NBC Spot On. Over the past three decades, Buchanan has held various sales roles with increasing responsibility in Los Angeles at Telemundo’s KVEA and NBCU’s KNBC, culminating as the director of business development for the both stations.

She was also Telemundo Station Group’s Los Angeles-based director of sales and has worked as an account executive at Telemundo Network.
