Technology from many of the vendors stations rely on to keep viewers informed of changing weather conditions is being used to provide commuters with relevant traffic data on their mobile devices and TVs.

The threat landscape has changed so dramatically, so fast, that it has outpaced previously sound security practices. The problem is twofold. One part of the problem is insoluble; but the other, businesses can remedy — and have no existential choice but to do so.

Nexstar Media’s and Sinclair’s ATSC 3.0 spectrum consortium — which has recruited Univision and Northwest Broadcasting as members — is looking for a CEO to run the venture full-time. WMTV went live from a new 32,000-square-foot facility in Madison, Wis., with its entire operation in late October 2016. The Wall Street Journal reports that cord-cutters accustomed to watching shows online are often shocked that $20 “rabbit ears” pluck signals from the air. Is this legal? “I was just kind of surprised that this is technology that exists,” says Dan Sisco, 28 years old. “It’s been awesome. NEP Group has acquired Bexel Global Broadcast Solutions (a subsidiary of Vitec Group) in a move that combines two of the biggest vendor names in live sports production. The deal for Bexel further expands the Pittsburgh-based broadcast-services provider’s inventory of flypack systems and equipment for live event production.
