Adolfo Segura Named KUAN San Diego VP Of News

Telemundo moves him from its Sacramento-Fresno stations to oversee journalism at its San Diego operation.

Telemundo’s KUAN San Diego has appointed Adolfo Segura as vice president of news starting Aug. 28. He is leaving his current role as VP of news for Telemundo’s KCSO- KNSO Fresno, Calif. In his new role at KUAN, he will be responsible for overseeing the station’s newsrooms, including all multi-platform news operations and performance. Segura will report to Melissa “Missy” Crawford, president-GM KUAN and KNSD (NBC).

An experienced and Emmy-winning news professional, Segura joins KUAN after four years at KCSO-KNSO. At the helm of the Telemundo owned stations in Sacramento and Fresno, he spearheaded the expansion of the newsroom by growing the staff to offer more comprehensive and unified coverage to local audiences. Also, he oversaw the launch of the stations’ new studio, graphics and workflow.

Before this, Segura was the VP of news of at Telemundo’s KVDA San Antonio, Texas, for six years where he oversaw the launch of the station’s first border news bureau. Segura has also held other newsroom roles at Univision and Telemundo.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Nevada.
