Antonio Rodríguez Joins Telemundo’s KBLR Las Vegas As News Anchor

KBLR (Telemundo Las Vegas), part of NBCUniversal’s Telemundo Station Group, has named Antonio Rodriguez news anchor for Noticiero Telemundo Las Vegas, which is presented weekdays at noon, 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Rodriguez, who begins his new role on April 15, rejoins KBLR following nearly six years as an anchor and reporter for Telemundo’s KTLM McAllen, Texas. From 2014 to 2018, he was a reporter for KBLR’s consumer protection unit, Responde, and served as a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor.

“Antonio is an experienced and talented journalist who knows the Las Vegas community well,” said Johali Carmona, News Director for Telemundo Las Vegas. “His extensive background in local news will help us further elevate our commitment to delivering best-in-class news coverage to our community. We are thrilled to welcome him back to Telemundo Las Vegas.”

A 24-year media veteran, Rodriguez previously spent more than eight years in on-air and production roles with KNVO and KFXV in McAllen from 2006 to 2014. He began his career in newsroom production and reporting positions for KTVW Phoenix for nearly six years, beginning in 2000 as an assignment editor.

An Edward R. Murrow Award and ten-time Lone Star Emmy Award winner, Rodriguez earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas.
