Free New Year’s Eve Feed From Times Square

Once again, broadcasters can get free HD satellite and fiber feeds of the celebration from Times Square, New York, as well as behind-the-scenes preparations leading up to the big night.

The co-organizers of the famous New York New Year’s Ball Drop — the Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment — are once again offering free HD satellite and fiber feeds of the celebration from Times Square, New York, as well as behind-the-scenes preparations leading up to the big night including the  Numeral Arrival (Dec. 20), numeral installation atop One Times Square (Dec. 26), crystal installation (Dec. 27), Good Riddance Day (Dec. 28), confetti test (Dec. 29), and ball test and balloon preparation (Dec. 30).

The Dec. 31 live feeds are clean and uninterrupted with no bug or logo. They are available free to domestic and international media organizations and will feature exclusive panoramic views from proprietary camera locations with the ambient and natural sounds.

Highlights include the lighting and raising of the New Year’s Eve Ball at 6 p.m. ET, hourly countdowns, live musical performances by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and multi-platinum recording artist KT Tunstall, a Chinese cultural dance performance presented by the Sino-American Friendship Association, a Military Salute medley by the USO Show Troupe, additional special guests and the pushing of the Waterford Crystal button that signals the Ball Drop at midnight.

The event organizers have also partnered again with Livestream to offer an international webcast of the event. Host Jonathan Bennett and correspondents will provide live, commercial-free coverage leading up to the Ball Drop at midnight.

The webcast is available for media outlets, webmasters and bloggers to embed on their own websites and Facebook pages.

Additional information regarding the satellite/fiber feeds, event photography and downloadable pre-event coverage (B-Roll and pre-packaged EPK’s) is available here.
