Jason Hackett Named Morning Co-Anchor For KARE’s ‘Sunrise’

Tegna NBC affiliate KARE Minneapolis has added Jason Hackett to its KARE 11 Sunrise morning team as co-anchor and reporter, starting in early February 2023.

He joins Alicia Lewis, who was recently promoted to full-time co-anchor and reporter of Sunrise, and meteorologist Guy Brown.

Bill Dallman, KARE president and general manager, said: “Consumers tell us they are looking for an informational, smart and contemporary newscast in the morning. Jason, teamed with Alicia and Guy, will provide that and more to folks in the Metro area and in Western Wisconsin. We believe Jason and the team can help us reset our focus on how consumers use KARE 11.”

Prior to the move to KARE, Hackett was the weekday morning co-anchor at KOCO, the ABC affiliate in Oklahoma City. He also worked as a reporter at WPTV West Palm Beach, Fla.

Hackett received the Best Newscast and Best Feature Reporting awards from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters.

He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in telecommunications.
