KMBC Kansas City Adds Brya Berry To Anchor Desk

Hearst-owned ABC affiliate KMBC Kansas City has hired Brya Berry as weekday co-anchor for the 5 p.m. newscast on KMBC and the 9 p.m. newscast on co-owned KCWE (CW).

Berry brings years of experience in journalism with an emphasis in investigative reporting. She earned her bachelor’s of broadcast journalism from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Berry starts with KMBC in May.

Berry previously worked as an anchor and investigative reporter at KFOR Oklahoma City and as an anchor and reporter at WRBL Columbus, Ga. She began her journalism career as a news content specialist at WBRC in Birmingham, Ala. Throughout her career, Berry has placed an emphasis on community advocacy and public service.

“Brya’s extensive experience as an anchor and reporter will help us continue to provide our viewers with the most up-to-date and accurate news in the Kansas City area,” said KMBC News Director Dan O’Donnell. “We look forward to the energy and expertise that she will bring to our newscasts.”
