KSAZ Phoenix Sets New ‘AZAM’ Team

Fox O&O KSAZ Phoenix will debut a new AZAM morning team. Effective Oct. 2, Desiree Fluellen and Anita Roman will join Ron Hoon and weather anchor Ty Brennan from 4:30 to 7 a.m. on weekday mornings. In addition, Roman will provide traffic reports throughout the station’s entire morning show and co-anchor the Fox 10 News at Noon alongside Troy Hayden each weekday. From 7 to 10 a.m., Fluellen will provide field reports.

Troy Hayden and Syleste Rodriguez will remain as co-anchors from 7 to 10 a.m. with Ty Brennan anchoring the weather.

In making the announcement, Steve Levi, VP-news director, said: “Adding Desiree and Anita’s unique perspectives, expertise, and enthusiasm will only strengthen our incredible veteran morning team and allow us to showcase the Fox 10 coverage in new and exciting ways.”

Anita Roman joined KSAZ in 2011, and has most been weekend morning anchor and weekday reporter. Prior to this, she was an anchor and reporter for KVBC Las Vegas, and previously, for WICS Springfield, Ill.

Before that, Roman was a reporter and anchor at KAPP Yakima, Wash. She began her career in broadcasting at KTVK Phoenix.

A graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, Roman holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and English.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Desiree Fluellen joined KSAZ in 2021 as a weekday morning reporter. Prior to joining the station, she was a reporter and anchor for WSMV Nashville. Previously, she was a weekend morning anchor and weekday reporter for WBTS Boston.

A graduate of Buffalo State College, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a concentration in political science and economics.
