Nexstar To Host Debate Between Pa. Candidates For U.S. Senate

Nexstar Media said today that it will host an exclusive multi-market live primetime telecast of a debate between the candidates running for the United States Senate from Pennsylvania, Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz and Democrat Lt. Governor John Fetterman. The event is currently the only scheduled face-to-face meeting between the two candidates before the Nov. 8 election.

Your Local Election Headquarters: Pennsylvania U.S. Senate Debate will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 8 p.m. ET, at the WHTM studio in Harrisburg, Pa., and will be telecast to 62 counties and live streamed throughout the state.

With the addition of broadcast partner, WPXI Pittsburgh, the live debate will be available via broadcast or digital live stream to every Pennsylvania voter in every county of the state. The one-hour debate will bring together potentially more than nine million viewers across Pennsylvania and will air live on nine stations serving the state: WHTM Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York, WPXI Pittsburgh, WPHL Philadelphia, WTAJ Johnstown-Altoona-State College, WBRE and WYOU Scranton/Wilkes- Barre/Hazleton, WJET and WFXP Erie, and WYTV Youngstown, Ohio.

In addition, the debate will be live streamed on WETM Elmira, N.Y.; WPIX New York; WIVB Buffalo, N.Y.; and WDVM Washington. Additionally, all radio stations throughout the commonwealth will be provided free access to the debate.

The debate will be moderated by WHTM anchor Dennis Owens and WPXI anchor Lisa Sylvester, who will pose questions to the candidates focused on current local and regional issues impacting communities across Pennsylvania.
