Phil Reed Named KHBS-KHOG Weekday 5 P.M. Anchor-Reporter

Hearst Television’s ABC affiliates KHBS and KHOG Fayetteville-Fort Smith Ark., have hired Phil Reed as weekday 5 p.m. anchor and reporter. He joins from KCRG Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

“Phil’s experience and passion for reporting local news will be an asset to our stations,” said 40/29 News Director, Colleen Clement. “He’s worked so many different positions in the industry, and we look forward to him sharing the stories that matter to our viewers in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley.”

Reed is originally from Chicago and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Journalism.

In college, Reed worked at the Northern Television Center as a reporter and producer where he also shot interviews and covered sports for Top Shelf Sports. He also worked his way up from a multimedia journalist to an anchor and producer at KCRG Cedar Rapids.

Reed will begin anchoring 40/29 News at 5:00 p.m. and reporting later this month.
