WCAV Charlottesville Beefs Up Sports Department

Anne-Parker Coleman

Lockwood Broadcast Group CBS affiliate WCAV Charlottesville, Va., has filled out its award-winning sports department with a promotion and a new addition.

Anne-Parker Coleman has been named sports director. Coleman came to CBS19 as a news reporter in 2021, but quickly found her calling in sports and moved into the sports department.

Coleman was born in Martinsville, Va., and is a graduate of the University of Virginia. At UVA, she worked for the student-run news station and interned in the athletic department.

Aniekan Okon

Aniekan Okon joined CBS19 just as the high school and UVA football seasons kicked off in September. Before coming to WCAV, he worked for WPRI Providence, R.I., as a sports producer while still attending the University of Rhode Island.

WCAV News Director Dan Schutte said: “I’m really excited for our sports department. Anne-Parker and Aniekan will continue our award-winning coverage, and give our viewers stories, interviews, and highlights they won’t see anywhere else in Central Virginia. I think CBS19 Sports will do great things this year.”
