WSYX Names Nicole Hogensen News Director

Sinclair Broadcast Group’s ABC-Fox affiliate WSYX Columbus, Ohio, has hired Nicole Hogensen as news director.

Hogensen returns to Columbus starting March 21 after spending the past 11 years at WPTV-WFLX in West Palm Beach, Fla., where she has been senior news director since 2016.

Hogensen is an Ohio native and was born and raised in Akron. She studied journalism at Ohio State University and Kent State University. Hogensen said: “Central Ohio for me feels like home, I love everything that the area has to offer. This community has always been so kind to me and my family.”

Hogensen takes over for Jamie Justice who was promoted to group news director for Sinclair Television Group after serving as WSYX news director since 2014.
