WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Family Feud’ Tops The Syndie Charts Again

The game show’s 5.2 in the week ending Aug. 28 is a full point ahead of second-place occupants Jeopardy and Judge Judy.

Family Feud once again had the right answer, outplaying the game shows and all of syndication for a fourth week in a row and the fifth time in six weeks in the session ending Aug. 28. Feud picked up 2% to a 5.2 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating, while Jeopardy was a full point behind at a 4.2, followed by Wheel of Fortune at a flat 4.1.

The talk show race remained tight at the top with Dr. Phil erupting 8% to a three-week high 1.4 to tie Live with Kelly and Ryan for first place in the category. Both shows were almost entirely — or completely — in repeats.

In third place, encores of the soon-to-end Ellen DeGeneres continued to grow in popularity, strengthening 17% to a 0.7.

Courtroom programs remained under the jurisdiction of Judge Judy whose 4.2 rating was greater than that of the other six combined and tied Jeopardy as the second-highest strip in all of syndication.

Divorce Court with new host Star Jones began its season, ticking up 25% to a fourth place 0.5.

The top talk shows for the week among women 25-54 were:

WOW! 20 Plus Year Executive in the TV business and I see ratings like these – Sad, it’s embarrassing. Understand streaming BUT – OMG ; DEVASTATING TIME IN BROADCASTING and the SYNDICATION INDUSTRY.
