WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Live’ And ‘Phil’ Tie Again At The Top Of Talk

In the week ending Sept. 11, Live leapt 7% to a three-week high 1.5 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen, while Phil forged ahead 7% to a seven-week high 1.5.

Live with Kelly and Ryan and Dr. Phil both generated ratings steam and continued to duel at the top of the talk shows, tying for the third week in a row and running away from the field in the Labor Day session ending Sept. 11.

Live, which leapt 7% to a three-week high 1.5 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen, has finished with at least a share of first for 16 straight weeks. Meanwhile, Phil, which forged ahead 7% to a seven-week high 1.5, has risen to equal its rival eight times over that stretch.

Also having big weeks were Tamron Hall and Maury, which both surged 17% to a 0.7, tying Kelly Clarkson at No. 3 in talk.

Two new talkers, Jennifer Hudson and Sherri, premiered Sept. 12 and both got good first-week welcomes from viewers. Jennifer clocked a 0.7 rating/3 share (weighted metered market average) for its primary runs, up 17% from its year-ago time periods. Its best top 10 market performance was in Boston, where its 1.4/7 won its time period with a 27% improvement over what Ellen DeGeneres did in its time slot last year.

Sherri scored 0.7/4 primary run weighted average in its first week with a top-10 best 1.8/10 in Atlanta, up 13% over what Wendy Williams did last year in the time period.

Also in the overnights, the premiere week of new game show Pictionary averaged a 0.3/1 for its primary runs, up 50% from its July 2022 time periods. In New York it out performed The Good Dish, which was the show it replaced, by 33%.
