‘South Florida Live’ Premieres On WTVJ June 19

NBC O&O WTVJ Miami said today that Kristin Sanchez will leave her current role as morning traffic anchor and reporter to Host South Florida Live, NBC6’s lifestyle and entertainment show that will celebrate the region’s “hidden gems, best kept secrets and must-see destinations.”

The show will premiere Monday, June 19, and air weekdays at 12:30 p.m. across on-air, mobile, digital and streaming platforms. Building on the legacy of 6 In the MixSouth Florida Live will reveal “the trendiest hotspots and unforgettable experiences that South Florida offers.”

“I’m so excited to show off South Florida and give a behind-the-scenes look at what makes our home so unique,” Sanchez said. “If you’re looking for fun things to do with the kids, romantic date night ideas, local entertainment news or how to have the most amazing staycation right in our own backyard, South Florida Live will be your one-stop shop.”

The show will celebrate the region, its people and what makes it pulse. South Florida Live will also provide local insertion opportunities for advertisers.

“For the past five years, viewers have kicked off their mornings with Kristin. In her new role, she will take viewers on a guided tour showcasing our region and what makes it unique,” said Sara Ahmad-Visomirski, vice president, creative services. “South Florida Live will be our daily connection for everything South Florida.”

Sanchez joined WTVJ in 2018 as traffic anchor and reporter for NBC6 News Today at 5 and 6 a.m. As a mother, working professional and wife, Sanchez has immersed herself in the region, exploring all corners of South Florida and discovering the hidden gems for families and individuals alike. A Long Island native of Ecuadorian heritage, she earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast, print, and online media with a minor in Spanish and business from Florida Southern College. She is also pursuing a master’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida

Sanchez has been honored as “Best Anchorwoman” in 2020, 2021 and 2022 by Fort Lauderdale Magazine and is a recipient of South Florida’s Business & Wealth Magazine’s “Prestigious Women Award” for her work as a broadcast professional in South Florida.

Produced by WTVJ from the station’s studios in Miramar, Fla., viewers will be able to watch South Florida Live on-air, on the station’s digital and mobile platforms and on its streaming channel “NBC South Florida News” which is available on Peacock, The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus, Xumo, Fire TV and Echo Devices, and Google TV.
