WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Tamron Hall’ Leaps In Fall

The sophomore talker unleashed the largest leap of all syndicated shows in the session ending Oct. 25, skyrocketing 29% to a new season high 0.9 in households and shooting up 33% in the key women 25-54 demo.

Talkers were syndication’s biggest winners in the session ending Oct. 25 with sophomore hit Tamron Hall showing the way. Most of the top tier in the category moved up and several staged double-digit surges.

Dr. Phil got the party started, jumping 5% to a new season high 2.0 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating and taking first place in the yak pack for the 200th time in the past 216 weeks. That just edged a rising Live with Kelly and Ryan which rallied 19% to a 1.9.

Also heating up was the popular Kelly Clarkson, which climbed into fourth place for the first time this season, forging ahead 11% for the frame and 25% over the past two stanzas to a 1.0.

Breaking into the top-tier picture was the red-hot Tamron Hall, which unleashed the largest leap of all syndicated shows, skyrocketing 29% to a new season high 0.9 in households and shooting up 33% in the key women 25-54 demo. Not surprisingly, Hall has already been greenlighted for next year by the all-important ABC stations.

Ellen DeGeneres held on to third place in the genre but was unable to gain, remaining at a 1.1 for a third straight week, which was 39% below last year at this time.

Elsewhere, supreme court show Judge Judy continued to rule daytime with a 5.1.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

In access, Inside Edition inched up 5% to a 2.3 and narrowly led the magazines over sister show Entertainment Tonight, which improved 10% to a 2.2 despite competition from the World Series and NFL football.

Access Hollywood held its ground at a third place 1.0 and Extra moved into sole possession of fourth place for first time this season, hanging tough at a 0.7 in households and surging 33% among women 25-54 even though it was preempted an amazing 70 times in the top 20 markets alone.

The week’s top-rated daytime talk shows in the women 25-54 demo were:

  • Live with Kelly and Ryan (0.8, +14% from the week before), tied with Dr. Phil (0.8, +14%)
