Pedro Andrade Named News Director For Telemundo’s KULX

Telemundo’s KULX, the Telemundo-owned station that serves Spanish-speaking audiences throughout the state of Utah, yesterday announced that, effective immediately, Pedro Andrade has been promoted to News Director.

Andrade, who has served as KULX’s Assistant News Director since August 2022, will oversee the station’s news operation. In this expanded role, he will continue to lead the station’s newsroom and help inform audiences across multiple linear and digital platforms including on-air, online at TelemundoUtah.com, on ROKU and Fire TV, and via its Telemundo Utah app and social media channels, according to a company release. Andrade will continue to report to Tatiana Argüello, President and General Manager of Telemundo Colorado and Telemundo Utah.

“Pedro is a strategic news leader with strong editorial judgment,” said Argüello in the release. “He has fostered a culture of innovation and collaboration in the KULX newsroom, and I am excited for Pedro and his team of experienced news professionals to continue informing and empowering our Spanish-speaking community in Utah to make decisions that will have a lasting effect on themselves and their families.”

Andrade, a nine-time regional Emmy Award winner and Telly award winner, is a media veteran with more than 17 years of experience in broadcasting. He has held various newsroom positions with increasing responsibility throughout the years. Andrade joined KULX from KSTS Bay Area, CA, where he started as a News Producer in 2015.

In addition to his local broadcast experience, Andrade also worked for the General Office of Communication at the Housing Authority in Venezuela in various mass communication roles with increasing responsibilities in his career.

Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Andrade launched his career in media more than 17 years ago as a host for a local radio station in Caracas.
