Television Publicity Executives Committee Sets New Leadership Team

The Television Publicity Executives Committee (TPEC) has chosen its leadership team for 2024. Irina Bobker, publicity director, Freeform; Brian Eley, VP, communications, Crunchyroll; and Alice Rao, SVP, publicity, Hallmark Media, are joining the executive committee.

They will be joining Todd Beck, CEO, Beck Media & Marketing; Joe Schlosser, founder, Schlosser Communications; and Eileen Quast, principal publicity, MGM+. In addition, former co-chair Dustin Smith, Founder, SmithHouse will remain on the executive committee and oversee the 2024 TPEC Awards.

This team is tasked with guiding the nonprofit organization by encouraging positive working relationships between entertainment publicists and the media. TPEC, which developed a virtual media panel series during the past four years, will continue to host virtual panels and introduce  more networking and professional development opportunities in the coming year.

TPEC Chair Wendy Zocks said: “Going into my third year in a leadership role for TPEC, I could not be more excited to welcome our new executive committee members. Alongside my former co-chair, Dustin Smith, we have seen this organization grow and flourish. Our goal is to continue to be a resource for our programming publicity community and help navigate the changing landscape of our jobs.”

For a second year, TPEC will recognize outstanding TV publicity campaigns at the 2024 TPEC Awards in May. These awards honor and acknowledge the publicity teams throughout the industry who develop and execute strategic, creative and impactful campaigns in support of an impressive range of content in an ever-growing field of networks and streaming services. Submissions this year include campaigns from our membership of leading networks, studios and streamers as well as several highly deserving Rising Star nominations, which will honor the next generation of PR professionals.

Forming a staff from 0 is not so easy, only if the candidate has properly prepared for the vacancy. Your resume and cover letter should appear on your interviewer’s desk at the same time.
