IBC 2022: 7Mountains Wants To Transform Newsrooms To Story-Centric Cloud With Dina

Fonn Group company 7Mountains will exhibit at IBC 2022 (RAI, Amsterdam, Sept. 9-12) in hall 7, stand 7.A45. The company will demonstrate the story-centric newsroom tool Dina, which launched in 2019.

Dina changes how journalists work with a new approach to story creation, planning, collaboration, and story-centric workflows. The story-centric newsroom is organized around the story rather than the delivery platform, allowing a journalist to effectively and quickly deliver content to linear shows, OTT, SoMe, and CMS.

Dina is cloud-native and built from the ground up on modern, web-based technologies. Dina is a true Software-as-a-Service delivery, with new features added for the end users with no downtime on the system. Upgrade projects are never required. Dina connects to on-premise devices via the MOS gateway.

New at IBC is the launch of Dina Rundown, a stand-alone rundown tool for linear production enabling a quick and easy replacement of the old on-premises/cloud hosted only newsroom systems, making the basis for later on doing a Dina upgrade to story-centric workflows.

Mads Grønbæk, CTO and co-founder of 7Mountains, said: “Many broadcasters that choose Dina as their new NRCS do this as part of a strategic process to move to the cloud, reduce costs, and work more efficiently across their linear and digital news teams. Industry know-how and experience in broadcast workflows have proven to be key to the success of 7Mountains. We are excited to see how Dina fits so nicely in a market that is moving fast forward to cloud, Solutions-as-a-Service, and working from anywhere.”

Recent Dina projects include transitioning to a cloud newsroom and story-centric workflows for TV New Zealand (TVNZ). With Dina as its story-centric newsroom tool, TVNZ is expanding its outputs to digital platforms by enabling teams to collaborate across departments. In an interview from 7Mountains partner Stem Media this summer, Chief Product and Information Officer Kym Niblock said: “Audiences are all migrating to the internet; that is just the fact. We are a broadcaster, and story-centric workflows are part of our holistic business strategy.”

BRAND CONNECTIONS

At IBC, 7Mountains will co-exhibit with its sister company Mjoll, demonstrating its tight integration with video collaboration and production tool, Mimir.
