Ad, TV Execs To Address Optimizing Spot Rev.

FriedmanGaffneyMeyerNapolitanoPublicis’ Frank Friedman, GroupM’s Ed Gaffney, Gray Television’s Becky Meyer and Hubbard Broadcasting’s Val Napolitano will debate the impact of automation, big data and targeting during a session at TVNewsCheck’s TV2020: Monetizing the Future.

Four senior executives, two from the ad agency side and two from station groups, will offer advice on how to optimize spot TV revenue growth at TVNewsCheck’s second annual TV2020 conference in New York.

Frank Friedman, president, local investment at Publicis; Ed Gaffney, managing partner and director of implementation research and marketplace analysis, GroupM North America; Becky Meyer, VP and director of national sales at Gray Television; and Val Napolitano, SVP programmatic at Hubbard Broadcasting, will identify opportunities for accelerating the growth of spot TV revenue during a panel session set for 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 at New York’s Javits Center.

“Spot TV revenue has been described as a no-growth business,” said Kathy Haley, co-founder and publisher of TVNewsCheck.com, who will moderate the spot TV session at TV2020: Monetizing the Future. “I’m looking forward to hearing from our panelists about how spot TV can compete more effectively in the era of Facebook, Google and numerous other competitors in digital, OTT and cable and satellite TV.”

TV 2020: Monetizing the Future will take place at NAB Show New York. The conference, launched last year to explore the potential for monetizing ATSC 3.0, has expanded its focus in 2017 to address topics like OTT, digital monetization, the investment case for transitioning television technology to IP infrastructure and the future of broadcast TV programming in non-network time periods.

NAB Show New York runs Oct. 18-19 at the Javits Center. It aims to connect the next generation of storytellers to the technology and innovation fostering new content strategies to inform, educate and entertain. Produced by the National Association of Broadcasters, the event is co-located with the annual AES Convention and is also part of The Media Collective, a weeklong collaboration of media and entertainment events providing greater exposure to global thought leaders, innovative solutions and new platforms.
