Adam Levy To Head CBS’s Miami Duopoly

The sales director at CBS's KTVT-KTXA Dallas is moving into the VP-GM slot at WFOR-WBFS, succeeding Shaun McDonald.

Veteran local television executive Adam Levy has been named VP-general manager of the CBS Television Stations’ Miami properties, WFOR (CBS) and WBFS (MNT), it was announced. Levy has most recently was VP-director of sales for the company’s Dallas-Fort Worth duopoly, KTVT-KTXA, since 2008, and prior to that was director of sales for KTVT since 2002.

Levy will succeed Shaun McDonald as the duopoly’s GM. McDonald, who has been a general manager for CBS-owned stations since 2003, including the company’s Miami stations since October 2006, is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

“Adam Levy is an exceptional and inspirational leader who over the course of his 20-plus years in local television has been a key member of the management teams for a number of successful stations, including several duopolies,” said Peter Dunn, president, CBS Television Stations. “Miami is an important market for us and we are excited to have Adam take on the responsibility for overseeing our South Florida stations, where he joins an experienced team of broadcasters who are committed to doing a great job for us.”

Prior to joining the CBS family in 2002, Levy spent three years with Sinclair Broadcasting in Baltimore, where he initially was general sales manager of WBFF, then was promoted to director of sales of WBFF and co-owned WNUV, which at the time was a WB affiliate.

Before that, Levy spent two years with Fox Broadcasting as national sales manager of KDFW and KDFI in Dallas-Fort Worth. His background also includes two years as a sales executive and then team manager for New World Television’s sales group in New York.

Levy began his career in local television as an account executive for WLVI and later WHDH, both in his hometown of Boston, after earning his master’s degree in broadcasting and bachelor’s degree in communications from Boston University.
