Adler To Cover Entertainment, Sports For WPIX

Tribune Broadcasting’s CW affiliate WPIX New York (DMA 1) has named Andy Adler entertainment reporter and sports Anchor for its PIX11 Morning News.

Adler, who had been working with the station on special projects, including WPIX’s Super Bowl coverage, will officially join PIX11 Morning News on April 7.

Adler will relocate to New York from Los Angeles, where she was most recently at Time Warner Cable SportsNet as the host of the Los Angeles Lakers pre- and post-game shows and host of Access SportsNet, a live nightly show on sports in Southern California.

Adler has also held several positions at NBC in Los Angeles: co-anchor of Today in LA Weekend Edition, reporter for Today in LA Weekdays and host of the weekly sports segment for Prime Time News LA.

Prior to her positions at NBC, she was weekend sports anchor at WNYW New York and co-host of Sunday’s Sports Extra. Adler was also the field reporter for the New York Giants pre- and post-game shows at WNYW as well as the traveling reporter for New York Jets games on WWOR.

Adler, whose first language is Spanish, was formerly the host of American Latino TV, a nationally syndicated, weekly magazine program and has held anchor positions at KESQ Palm Springs, Calif., and KSBW Monterey-Salinas, Calif.
