Amy Coleman To Produce ‘Jeff Probst’

The former Oprah producer will be in charge of CBS Television Distribution’s new syndicated first-run talk show set to debut this fall.

Former Oprah Winfrey Show supervising producer Amy Coleman has been named executive producer of CBS Television Distribution’s new syndicated first-run talk show Jeff Probst, it was announced today by Aaron Meyerson, president of programming and development for CTD.

Coleman, who was a consulting producer on the pilot, joins host Jeff Probst as executive producer.

“Amy is a talented and creative producer who spent years working for the best — Oprah Winfrey. Her pedigree can’t be beat,” Meyerson said. “We’re thrilled to have Amy leading our team.”

Coleman spent 16 years at Oprah, beginning in 1994 as an associate producer and rising to the position of supervising producer. Prior to joining Oprah, Coleman spent seven years working her way through the ranks at WFLD Chicago, from assignment editor to news producer, ultimately producing documentaries and sweeps series for the special projects division.

Before that, she was a news-writer, editorial assistant and video journalist with CNN-Headline News in Atlanta.

Jeff Probst will debut in fall 2012. The one-hour talk show will cover topics ranging from relationships and family dynamics to newsmakers of the day to families and individuals facing challenges.

Jeff Probst has cleared more than 80% of TV homes, including on eight of 10 NBC Owned Television Stations, such as WNBC New York. Other station groups that have picked up the show include CBS Television Stations, Hearst, Raycom, Sinclair, Dispatch and Gray Television.
