CBS Names Tumulty Affiliate Relations EVP

Former CW network distribution exec Elizabeth Tumulty will be the West Coast point person on affiliate issues including negotiating new affiliation contracts and coordinating with the CBS Affiliate Board.

Elizabeth Tumulty today was named executive vice president, affiliate relations for the CBS Television Network. She will report to Diana Wilkin, president, affiliate relations.

An industry veteran, Tumulty brings more than 20 years of network, local television and syndication experience to the role. Tumulty will work closely with Wilkin on multiple fronts including negotiating new affiliation contracts, coordinating with the CBS Affiliate Board and working on all affiliate-related initiatives.

Based in Los Angeles, she will be the West Coast point person on affiliate issues, coordinating with key CBS executives as needed. The appointment is effective June 1.

Tumulty most recently was EVP, network distribution for The CW, serving as the network’s first head of distribution and affiliate relations when it launched in September 2006. Tumulty’s role quickly grew to include oversight of affiliate marketing. Her responsibilities expanded again in 2012 with the addition of The CW Plus Network, a national feed of The CW available in small markets across the country. For CW Plus she had oversight over sales, program acquisitions, scheduling, finance, operations, marketing and research.

Prior to joining CW, Tumulty was SVP of affiliate relations and communications for The WB Network. She came to WB in 2000 as director, affiliate relations, and was promoted four times during her six-year tenure.

She gained her syndication experience at 20th Television and began her career with the Blair rep firm in Chicago.

Love Elizabeth and she’s very deserving. If she took oversight of all those roles at CW Plus, what did Russ Myerson do?
