CBS TV Distribution Makes 2 Appointments

Maureen FitzPatrick joins as SVP of programming and development and Joe Ferullo is promoted to SVP of programming and development.

Today, CBS Television Distribution announced that Maureen FitzPatrick and Joe Ferullo both have been named senior vice president, programming and development.

FitzPatrick is a daytime television veteran, with a substantial resume as an executive producer, programming consultant and producer with overall deals at multiple studios, including Sony, Buena Vista and Fox TV Studios. Her credits consist of numerous daytime talk shows, including executive producer of Living it Up! With Ali & Jack, Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus and Donny and Marie, as well as serving as a consulting producer on Ellen. She also has producing credits on numerous game shows including The Newlywed Game, The Dating Game and Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Most recently, she was executive producer of GSN’s new game show Pyramid, which debuted last month.

Ferullo has been with CTD since 2006, serving as VP of programming and development. He is responsible for developing new shows and is currently overseeing programs such as Judge Judy, Dr. Phil, The Doctors, Rachael Ray, Judge Joe Brown and Inside Edition.

FitzPatrick joins CTD from FremantleMedia North America where she was SVP of comedy development, developing, selling and producing scripted live-action and animated adult comedies for numerous cable networks. She started at Fremantle in 2006 as VP of digital content and development and was later promoted to senior vice president of digital content and development. There she was charged with creating Fremantle’s first digital online channel, Atomic Wedgie TV. She also developed and produced the company’s first original scripted half-hour TV series, Secret Girlfriend, for Comedy Central.

Before moving into television full-time, FitzPatrick studied improv at Chicago’s Second City and was the executive producer and co-founder of the Chicago-based Illegitimate Players theater company. She also created and executive produced a national live comedy tour for the Coors Light brand.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

In addition to her studies at Second City, FitzPatrick earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications and Political Science at Marquette University.

Prior to joining CBS, Ferullo was a producer at NBC and NBC News. He wrote, produced and directed network primetime specials, including a two-hour retrospective of the series Friends. Ferullo was a member of the management group that oversaw NBC’s merger with Universal, a post that led to a larger role for the news division within the new, expanded company.

He was an award-winning writer-producer for Dateline NBC.

Before landing at NBC, Ferullo also worked at ABC News and CBS News, was a screenwriter and was a staff writer/reporter for numerous publications, including Rolling Stone Magazine. Ferullo graduated from Columbia University in New York.
