CBS Ups Andy Kubitz To VP, Scheduling

Andy Kubitz has been promoted to senior vice president, program planning and scheduling, CBS, it was announced today.

In this position, Kubitz will continue to be responsible for the scheduling of CBS’s primetime series, specials, television movies and mini-series. He will also continue to contribute to the scheduling of The CW and coordinating CBS’s theatrical acquisitions.

A 15-year CBS veteran, Kubitz has played a part in the last nine CBS fall schedules.  Kubitz played a role in the network’s scheduling moves this fall, including the relocation of The Big Bang Theory to Thursday, Survivor to Wednesday, CSI: Miami to Sunday and CSI: NY to Friday.

Since Feb. 2006, Kubitz has been VP, program planning and scheduling. Prior to that, he was director, program planning and scheduling since November 2000, and manager, program planning and scheduling from March 1998 to November 2000. From 1996 to 1998, he was an executive assistant in the CBS program planning department. He began his career as an assistant in the current programming and comedy development department.

Kubitz graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a bachelor of science in communications and will receive his master of business administration from Pepperdine University in April.

If Mr. Kubitz is responsible for the programming that CBS has now, I am glad he has been promoted. He certainly
deserves it. CBS is my favorite network. It’s programming couldn’t be better. Just tell them not to cancel any
of their dramas. They are all topnotch and I look forward to each and every episode, every day and week.
