CJ&N Founder Northcott Announces Retirement

CJ&N Inc. founder and industry leader Bruce Northcott is retiring from day-to-day operations of the company, effective this month. Des Moines, Iowa-based CJ&N is a local TV and media market research and consultation firm.

“Bruce has worked tirelessly to build CJ&N since day one, and he continues that effort even today,” said CJ&N President John Altenbern. “We congratulate Bruce on his decision to enter a new phase of his life where he has more time to enjoy himself and his family. It is richly deserved.”

Northcott was one of the founders of CJ&N in 1998. Prior to that, he was president of Frank N. Magid Associates, where he spent 20 years.

Northcott will continue to serve on the CJ&N board of directors, and will be available to the company as a strategic adviser going forward. He will also be occasionally involved with client strategy and research discussions on a selective basis.

“We’re thrilled that we will still be able to draw on Bruce’s experience and advice as the company moves forward,” said CJ&N principal Jill Johnson. “He will continue to be an extremely valuable asset to CJ&N,” she said.

I had the pleasure and good fortune to work for Bruce at FNMA for nearly ten years. Bruce is without doubt one of the “good guys” in the television consultation business. My sincere best wishes and congratulations to Bruce and Ginny as they begin a more relaxed phase of their lives. Cheers, Bruce!
