Cordillera Names Dir. Of Programming, Ops

Dan Stein will lead operations, research, programming, business analysis, contract negotiations, third-party vendor relationships, regulatory issues, retransmission consent and special projects.

TV station group owner Cordillera Communications announced Friday that Dan Stein has been appointed director of programming and operations, effective immediately.

Based at Cordillera’s St. Paul headquarters, Stein will work in operations, research, programming, business analysis, contract negotiations, third-party vendor relationships, regulatory issues, retransmission consent and special projects.

In addition, he will collaborate with Cordillera Interactive by assisting Jay Small, president, with business analysis, third-party vendor relationships and research.

Small said: “Dan will be a key part of the continued development of Cordillera Interactive and his broad research, analysis, and negotiating talents are certain to help develop stronger partner relationships and new areas of growth.”

Stein has more than 20 years of broadcasting experience, including management positions at Clear Channel Television, where he was VP–programming, and Benedek Broadcasting Corp., where he was director of programming and research.

Most recently, Stein has been an independent consultant working with television stations, group owners and studios.

Stein holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in communications from Syracuse University.
