Dan Ackerman Named SVP At CBS Stations

The former sales director at  CBS O&O KPIX-KBCW San Francisco will now focus on business strategy and ad innovation for the entire group of 29 stations.

Veteran cross-platform sales executive Dan Ackerman has been named senior vice president, business strategy and ad innovation, CBS Television Stations.

Ackerman will report to Jim Sullivan, president of sales for the group, and be responsible for working with the sales teams at the group’s 29 stations to collaborate with major clients and agencies on the development of customized advertising solutions that utilize the group’s wide range of platforms.  The group said Ackerman “will focus on the creation of business-to-business sales initiatives that leverage the group’s wide range of media assets and production capabilities, and offer product distribution pipelines.”

A veteran of more than 11 years with CBS Television Stations, Ackerman assumes his new responsibilities after having served as VP and director of sales at KPIX-KBCW San Francisco since April 2011.

Prior to leading the sales department at KPIX and KBCW, Ackerman spent two-and-a-half years leading sales and business development for Bay Area technology companies that specialized in digital media sales solutions.  Before that, he spent 10 years with CBS stations in Philadelphia, New York and San Francisco.

Ackerman earned his B.A. in communications from the University of Maryland.
