Debmar-Mercury Gives Firm Go To ‘Kyle’

Stations from Fox, Sinclair, CBS, Hearst and other groups push clearances for 2011-12 past 70%, including nine of top-10 markets.

Debmar-Mercury, teaming with producer ITV Studios America, has given a firm production commitment to The Jeremy Kyle Show for the 2011-12 season. The talk strip has been cleared in more than 70% of the U.S., including nine of the top 10 markets and the Fox stations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

The one-hour daily talk show, an original American version of Kyle’s No. 1-rated daytime talk show in the United Kingdom, appearing on ITV1, will debut in September 2011 on stations belonging to the Fox, Sinclair, CBS, Hearst, Cox, Newport and CW Plus  broadcast groups.

“Top stations from across the country have committed to a full season of The Jeremy Kyle Show, confirming our strong belief that this new U.S. version of a proven commodity will work as well with viewers here as it has in the U.K.,” said Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein.

Kyle, born and raised in London, debuted his Jeremy Kyle Show on ITV Daytime in 2005. More than 1,000 episodes later, his program is ITV’s No. 1 daytime show and draws a regular 30% audience share in its time slot.
