Derek Jeffery New VP-GM Of KGET
Nexstar Broadcasting Group announced today that Derek Jeffery has been appointed VP-GM of its properties in Bakersfield, Calif. (DMA 126), KGET (NBC and CW), KKEY-LP (Telemundo) and associated digital services, including community Web portal KernGoldenEmpire.com.
The appointment is effective April 7. Jeffery replaces Tom Randour, who is retiring after 16 years as GM and 37 years at KGET.
A Bakersfield native, Jeffery brings more than 10 years of broadcasting experience at KGET to his new role. He joined KGET in 2004 serving as a sales account executive. He was promoted to general sales manager in 2009.
Jeffery is a graduate of Utah State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism.
