Dubrow Named ‘Daily Blast Live’ Senior EP

Tegna Inc. on Friday appointed Emmy Award-winning producer Burt Dubrow the senior executive producer of Daily Blast Live, its entertainment and news program that crowdsources its content in real time from viewers through social media.

Daily Blast Live airs live in every time zone each weekday in 35 Tegna-owned television markets and is live on Facebook and YouTube. It is produced at Tegna-owned KUSA Denver.

Before joining Tegna, most recently, Dubrow developed and produced Dr. Drew’s live nightly news program for CNN’s HLN. For six years he was its executive producer, responsible for creating a blend of daily news and trending topics.

Dubrow also launched The Sally Jessy Raphael Show, which took an unknown broadcaster from a small market and grew the program to one of the most highly rated syndicated daytime talk series for most of its 18 years on the air.

He was also the executive producer of The Jerry Springer Show. Dubrow began his career in Chicago, working in various roles on shows where he began to explore the mix of news and entertainment.

His career has spanned television series in the scripted realm, kids and young adult programming, as well as adult talk shows across broadcast and cable TV.
