Enter Now For Scripps Howard Awards

The Scripps Howard Foundation is now accepting entries for the 2016 Scripps Howard Awards.

The national journalism competition was established in 1953 and it recognizes outstanding journalism across multiple platforms. This year, there are 15 journalism categories with total cash prizes of $180,000.

In the Topic of the Year category, for this year, the topic is the 2016 Presidential Election. Additional categories include investigative reporting, breaking news, community journalism, environmental journalism, public service, photojournalism and others.

The deadline to submit is Feb. 10, 2017.

The Scripps Howard Foundation will honor and celebrate award recipients at a special event in Cincinnati on April 12, 2017.

Entries in the journalism categories are judged by a list of who’s who in the journalism industry. The judges will gather at the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Fla., in February and will review all of the submissions to select a winner. All of their decisions are final.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

The Scripps Howard Foundation will announce the winners in a Twitter campaign on March 7, 2017. Every 15 minutes, the foundation will post a new category winner on the @SH_Awards handle.
