The Scripps Howard Foundation will present more than $170,000 in prize money to the winning organizations and journalists at its annual awards show on April 18 in Cincinnati honoring the best in journalism. Broadcast/cable/multiplatform winners include KNTV San Jose, Calif.; MSNBC; NBC News; National Geographic, BBC Frontline PBS; and Vice News.

The Scripps Howard Awards celebrate excellence in journalism during 2016 in 17 categories, with prize money totaling $180,000. The winning journalists and news outlets demonstrated courage, resourcefulness and ingenuity.
The national journalism competition was established in 1953 and recognizes outstanding journalism across multiple platforms. This year, there are 15 journalism categories with total cash prizes of $180,000. All entries are due by Feb. 10. The Scripps Howard Foundation will honor and celebrate award recipients in Cincinnati on April 12. The Scripps Howard Foundation will announce the winners in a Twitter campaign on March 7. Every 15 minutes, the foundation will post a new category winner on the @SH_Awards handle. For entry information, click here.
