Ergen: OTT Replacing Traditional Pay TV
Providers of streaming services such as DirecTV Now and Sling TV typically try to calm the fears of programmers that like the lucrative traditional pay TV bundle by saying that they aim to supplement, not replace, it. But Dish Network CEO Charlie Ergen doesn’t buy that anymore.

Ergen is one of the few who really “gets it”. He is underestimating “16-18 minutes of commercials per hour”. It’s more like 19-21. Requiring subscribers to pay more for less content is a recipe for disaster.
Funny how you claim Ergen “gets it” and then call him wrong in the next sentence.
We tried PlayStation Vue for about for months. I like that PlayStation Vue allows four streaming feeds to separate devices. But the bottom line we rarely watch it. We would check the channels and nothing on worth watching. So we would go to Netflix, Hulu, CBS all access and OTA. So we dropped the subscription, why pay for something we didn’t watch. I am interested in what Hulu will offer. Directtv Now is not available on Roku., se we won’t subscribe to them. Sling has too many restrictions on how many devices you can stream to at one time.
