The hour-long show, in which guests will be suprised by a life-changing announcement accompanied by a song-and-dance spectacle, will air immediately following American Idol on March 31.

Fox will plans to premiere a new hour-long reality show on Thursday, March 31, at 9 p.m. ET where it will enjoy  a lead in from American Idol.

In Mobbed, guests will be surprised by a life-changing announcement — a husband learning that his wife is pregnant, an applicant finding out that she got the job or a marriage proposal — accompanied by a huge song-and-dance spectacle performed by friends, family and strangers.

Host Howie Mandel will coach the performers. Much of the show involves performers prepping for the big event.

Mobbed is produced by Alevy Productions and Angel City Factory. Howie Mandel, Chris Cowan, Jean-Michel Michenaud, Mike Marks, Darryl Trell, Howard Kitrosser, Kevin Healey and Michael Rotenberg serve as executive producers. It is based on a format created by Mandel, Trell and Kitrosser.
