FremantleMedia Promotes Rick Glankler

FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) has appointed Rick Glankler to the newly created position of president of commercial operations, effective immediately. He will report to FMNA CEO, Jennifer Mullin, and will be a key member of her senior management team in the company’s Burbank, Calif., headquarters.

In this new role, Glankler will oversee the company’s strategy/business development, helping Mullin to identify potential investment opportunities, and mergers and acquisitions that best complement both FMNA and the overall FremantleMedia core businesses.

Glankler will also shepherd FMNA’s ancillary businesses including licensing, sponsorship and branded content, identifying new opportunities for growth and partnerships.

FMNA’s marketing/communications functions will fall under Glankler, who will guide the teams to advance the company’s overall messaging and branding for its extensive scripted and unscripted portfolios.

In addition, Glankler will oversee and provide strategic insight to FMNA’s vintage game show digital multicast network, BUZZR, as well as the company’s overall digital/social media efforts.

Glankler originally joined FremantleMedia in 2013 and was recently the president and general manager of the company’s Kids & Family Entertainment (FMK) division, overseeing all areas of the global business including development, production, consumer products, TV sales and brand management.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Glankler originally joined FremantleMedia from Mattel/Fisher Price, where he was an SVP of HIT Entertainment, overseeing their properties within the Fisher-Price division. Earlier in his career, Glankler held positions with market leading companies such as PepsiCo, Kraft and J. Walter Thompson.
