Digital Nirvana was demonstrating a number of products at the NAB Show. They include:

CARTS (for Capture, Analyze, Replay Transport Stream), a new platform that records and monitors the transport stream and provides alerts on non-compliance as well as the capability to cut segments and export sections of the transport stream for more detailed analysis. CARTS will also offer time-shifted playout for multiple time zone broadcasts as well as a disaster recovery solution for keeping a broadcaster’s signal on-air with recorded content.

CARTS records transport streams from ASI and stores them within the MonitorIQ platform. Real-time alerts are generated for MPEG stream compliancy issues without the need for a dedicated transport stream analyzer. It can extract sections of the stream as a separate file for deeper analysis by a third party transport stream analyzer. A cut/clip file can be created from the low bit rate proxy viewed through the Web Interface. The transport stream file is created as an export format option. Other features include:

  • The ability to monitor multiple transport streams
  • Provides alerts to pending problems with the stream with moderate level of insight (TR101-290) into the root of the issue
  • Multiple streams can be monitored with sections extracted for deeper analysis

Digital Nirvana’s CARTS standalone unit records transports streams from ASI and plays out the time shifted transport stream via ASI. Time shift functions can be programmed with configurable time delay, one, seven or 14-day delay. CARTS protects TV stations and networks from ever being off-air.
