Ion Names Steve Sternberg SVP, Sales Research

Ion Media Networks announced today that television research executive Steve Sternberg has been named senior vice president, sales research.  Sternberg will be based in Ion’s New York office and report to Stephen Appel, president, sales, Ion Media Networks.

In the newly created position, Sternberg and his team will be responsible for developing and implementing sales research presentations and audience analysis to support the company’s sales efforts, including creating presentations for agencies and clients. Over the last year, Sternberg has worked with Ion as a consultant, developing Ion’s research unit, the Consumer Value Index, among other leading research tools.

Sternberg joins Ion with more than 25 years’ experience leading the television research operations of major media agencies such as Magna Global, TN Media and Bozell. He was named a Media Maven by Advertising Age in 1996 and 2007 and was elected a Media All-Star by MediaWeek in 2003. Sternberg holds a BA in marketing from Bernard M. Baruch College.
